Bag om Hopes and Wants
How many times have you had friends, family, church members, or coworkers share a problem with you or ask for your advice about something? Maybe there's someone in your sphere of influence that you know is struggling or making poor choices in life, but you're unsure what to say or how to start, though your heart breaks to watch them head down the path they're on. Maybe you serve in a church or nonprofit context, regularly having opportunities to engage with and help others in your vocational ministry or volunteer service? This book is for every Christian who wants to better understand the inner dynamics of the human heart that become the problems you, I, and those around us are facing. This book is by no means exhaustive nor does it attempt to "have all the answers" to the problems we face, but it does intend to provide an overview of the subject of personal ministry/biblical counseling and seeks to offer a launching point through which we can begin to discover the roots of the problems people face and help them address these in a biblical way rather than being left to simply manage symptoms. The book will also help readers to begin to engage with the counseling world, use discernment in evaluating other forms of counseling, and it provides resource recommendations for further study.
