KAA (Impersonation, 1956) is the literary masterpiece of the celebrated Odia novelist Kanhu Charan Mohanty. The novel deals with the subject of female infertility and maternal death. This book was received Sahitya Akademi award in 1958. Directed by Siddhartha, which is a pseudonym for Gour Prasad Ghose, Parbati Ghose, & Ram Chandra Thakur it was made into a popular feature film in 1965 with the same name and received the National Film Award for Best Feature film in Odia in 1966.
