Konrad Vallenrod: A Historical Tale, From The Prussian, And Lithuanian Annals is a novel written by Adam Mickiewicz and published in 1841. The story is set in the 14th century and follows the life of Konrad Vallenrod, a Lithuanian knight who seeks revenge against the Teutonic Knights who killed his family. Vallenrod becomes a spy for the Teutonic Knights and rises to a position of power within their ranks, but ultimately uses his position to betray them and lead a rebellion against their rule. The novel explores themes of betrayal, revenge, and patriotism, and is considered one of the most important works of Polish literature.
