Life and Art of Edwin Booth

1893. A memoir of Edwin Booth, the American actor, based upon the author's intimate personal knowledge of the subject, and information provided to him by Booth himself. Booth followed his father onto the stage, but it was thought that the genius of the father had not descended to the son. It was not until after his father's death that he came into his own and began to captivate audiences with his performances. Later, for a time, his accomplishments were overshadowed when his brother, John Wilkes Booth, assassinated President Lincoln.
