During the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, Europeans spread out across the globe. They colonized territories in Africa, Asia and the Americas and created homelands thousands of miles away from the European continent. Locating Europe looks at the influence of European settler communities on the currents of nationalism and identity in an age of empire.
