Bag om Manon Lescaut (1893)
Manon Lescaut is an opera composed by Giacomo Puccini in 1893. The story is based on the novel of the same name by Antoine Franois Prvost. The opera tells the tragic love story of the beautiful and impulsive Manon and her lover, the young student Des Grieux. Manon is torn between her love for Des Grieux and her desire for wealth and luxury, and ultimately chooses the latter. The couple's attempts to escape together are foiled, and Manon is arrested and deported to America, where she dies in Des Grieux's arms. The opera features some of Puccini's most memorable arias and duets, including ""Donna non vidi mai"" and ""Tu, tu, amore? Tu?"".
