Muscogee

The southeastern woodlands was home to the people who called themselves Muscogee. Their society was made up of a contingency of other tribes that had a common language and deeply felt religious beliefs. They found common ground with each other through their celebration practices and rigid family structures.
The Muscogee were a strong people who were the actual beginnings of the Creek Nation. Their home was along a river in Georgia called the Black Warrior River. This is a story of how they made this region their home and how they lived their lives. The story focuses on two teenagers who found themselves being part of a larger family than that of their mothers and fathers. The tale explores the depths of their relationship and their extraordinary devotion to each other. Their time on earth was a time when day-to-day living was a struggle and a person had to be constantly aware of their surroundings in order to survive. This is a narrative about Native American teenagers; what their lives were like, and how their relationship was no less honest than that of any adult.
