Niels-Henrik Abel

Originally published in 1880 and translated into French in 1885, this was the first full biography of the Norwegian mathematician Niels Henrik Abel (1802-29). It gives a detailed account of the dramatic life of the brilliant young mathematician, whose early death came before his scientific accomplishments were fully recognised.
