Peering towards Cosmic Dawn (IAU S333)

Detecting the weak cosmological radiation emitted billions of years ago, from the time of the first 'stars', is difficult as emission from our Galaxy and other extragalactic sources intervenes. To get a clear view towards the early Universe, we therefore need to study the foreground emission in great detail.
