Early man discovered dance as a tool to express his innermost emotions. When this dance event is performed in front of the audience, it gives a sense of joy to the performer and the audience. These dances became a tool to relive important events of an individual or the society to which he belonged, and to express feelings about them. Such dances are referred to as Attakals in Natar dialects.
