Story Elements: Grades 3-6: Using Literature to Teach Literary Elements

Students learn to analyze and interpret literature they read not only for achievement on tests, but also for enjoyment throughout their lives. Elements are defined, then one or more examples from clas- sic or modern literature are given. Skill-building activities based upon each element are provided. Includes Plot, Conflict, Character, Setting, Point of View, Style Mood, Theme, Tone and Genre.
