Strange Sights Abroad Or A Voyage In European Waters

Bag om Strange Sights Abroad Or A Voyage In European Waters

""Strange Sights Abroad Or A Voyage In European Waters"" is a travelogue written by Oliver Optic. The book follows the journey of a group of American tourists as they explore various European cities and regions, such as Paris, London, and the Rhine River. The travelers encounter a variety of strange and fascinating sights, from historic landmarks to cultural customs, and the book provides detailed descriptions of each destination. Along the way, the group learns about the history and culture of each place they visit, and they also experience some unexpected adventures and challenges. The book is written in a lively and engaging style, making it an enjoyable read for anyone interested in travel or European culture.1893. From the Preface: Strange Sights Abroad is the fourth volume of the All-Over-the-World series; and while it contains a completed story, all the incidents and adventures of the hero and his companions being properly disposed of and finished, and all the characters who have figured on the pages of the book having been suitably rewarded, punished, or reformed, the narrative is still a continuation of the adventures of Louis Belgrave and his faithful ally, Felix McGavonty, who distinguish themselves as on former occasions. The Millionaire at Sixteen has entered upon his seventeenth year; but he has not been led away by any temptation, and resolutely maintains his high character in the presence of evildoers as well as of those who sympathize with him in sustaining a high ideal. Though some of his friends on board of the Guardian-Mother persist in calling him Sir Louis, and in regarding him as a sort of knight-errant, it will be observed that he never plunges into any adventure for its own sake, or for the mere excitement of the affair. A great read for young men from the American Boys series.
