It is a baseball story, but not the baseball story the world was ready to embrace from the author of A FALSE SPRING. It is a wrenching tale of a passion-filled, yet empty man who simultaneously seeks the truth about himself while running away from it. THE CHEAT is a brilliant and under-appreciated work.
