The Hills & Valleys

The Hills and the Valleys is an archive of black mundanity, a catalog of ancestral grief, and an inventory of black statuettes, euphemisms, and fashions.These American poems are both requiem and folklore, wit and declaration, songs of sanctuary and self-conception. They intersect themes of beauty, isolation, sorrow, ancestral trauma, and spirituality, while exploring the daunting truisms and stereotypes of Black Americans.
