Bag om The Old Must Die
"My name is Dylan Clark, and in 8 days, 13 hours, and 50 minutes, I am going to kill myself."Dylan Clark has lived a life worth forgetting, but it didn't start that way. At one time, he was very happy. He was in a long-term relationship with his high-school girlfriend (Casey), he was working toward a degree in college, and he had a circle of friends and family that were supportive and loving. All of that changed though - five years ago. With one horrible mistake, Dylan destroyed his relationship with Casey and, because of that, lost the will to strive for more. Now, at age 28, Dylan doesn't have much going for him. He has only one friend left (Ian), and he spends most of his life in complete isolation from others. He has nothing to look forward to in life - at least until recently. One afternoon, Dylan receives an invitation in the mail for his ten-year high school reunion. Reading the invitation makes Dylan do something that he hasn't done in a long time - smile. Dylan finally has a new purpose. He will end his misery forever on the night of the reunion.Unbeknownst to others, Dylan starts planning his exit strategy. Things come to a halt one day, though, when he receives a phone call from his father. Dylan's sister, Dakota, has been on a destructive path lately, and his parents ask if she can live with Dylan for a while - just until she gets straightened out. With no available excuses to give, Dylan must take in his sister with just one week left in his life.During that week, Dylan and Dakota become reacquainted. They learn more about each other as individuals. They push each other to become their best selves. Dylan wants Dakota to get past her addictions, and she wants him to become more like his old self. When Dakota learns of the reunion, she is determined to make Dylan go to reinvent himself. The night of the reunion quickly approaches, and Dylan is still ready to commit to his plan. However, all of that changes with just one variable: Casey. Dylan sees Casey and his inner conflict begins. In the midst of all of his former friends, emotions, and ways, Dylan must decide a few things. Does the simple sight of Casey change things? Can he fix the past? Or will he follow through on the one thing he has committed himself to? He has one night to decide.
