Hawk is a loner. Even as an honorary member of the Road Beasts and a member of the Winged Avengers, he prefers solitude. Getting attached to others has always ended in pain for him. Everyone he loves dies, including Cara Sampson, a beautiful misguided woman that belonged to someone else. Despite that, they had a brief affair, and Hawk wanted to be attached to someone else for the first time in his life. He compromised his mission and warned her to get out just before he was taken off the undercover assignment. He found out a few weeks later that Cara was dead.
