The Struggle Between Sufism, Evangelicals and Radical Islam

The Arab-Muslim world is in turmoil. Zidane Meriboute's book offers a panorama Global Islam, violent and non-violent Salafism and Sufism, a current that is very much in vogue in the world and particularly in the West, this study provides us with first-hand information by introducing us, in a pedagogical way, to the complexity and diversity of contemporary Muslim currents. These analyses are supplemented by an evocation of American evangelism, a conquering Christian movement that is permanently inscribed in the Muslim world at the price of a destabilization that risks further unbalancing a disturbed reality. The offensive of evangelical Christians in the Maghreb, Africa and the Middle East, including Israel, is, according to the author, part of a logic of confrontation with Muslims. Is confrontation with the Muslim world inevitable? Zidane Meriboute proposes new avenues for the establishment of an authentic religious diplomacy, called to thwart through finely constructed dialogues the prospects of religious confrontation between Christians and Muslims.
