The Turnpike Gate

Meanwhile, a group of highwaymen are causing trouble in the area and Timothy finds himself caught up in their schemes. The play features a number of songs and musical interludes, including a popular ballad called ""The Jolly Highwayman."" The Turnpike Gate was well-received in its time and is now considered a classic of English musical theater.
