The Wreck Of The Golden Mary

Bag om The Wreck Of The Golden Mary

The Wreck of the Golden Mary is a novel written by Charles Dickens. The story revolves around the ship Golden Mary, which is on a voyage from England to Australia. The ship is carrying a group of passengers, including the narrator, who is a young sailor. The journey is going smoothly until the ship encounters a storm and is wrecked on a deserted island. The passengers and crew are forced to survive on the island until they can be rescued. During their time on the island, the passengers and crew form a tight-knit community and work together to survive. They face many challenges, including finding food and water, building shelter, and dealing with illness and injury. As they wait for rescue, they share their stories and experiences with each other, forming deep bonds of friendship and camaraderie. The novel explores themes of survival, community, and the power of storytelling. It is a gripping tale of adventure and resilience, written in Dickens' signature style. The Wreck of the Golden Mary is a lesser-known work by Charles Dickens, but it is a must-read for fans of his writing and anyone who enjoys a good adventure story.Notwithstanding my being, as I have mentioned, quite ready for a voyage, still I had some doubts of this voyage. Of course I knew, without being told, that there were peculiar difficulties and dangers in it, a long way over and above those which attend all voyages. It must not be supposed that I was afraid to face them; but, in my opinion a man has no manly motive or sustainment in his own breast for facing dangers--by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
