Three Soldiers is a novel written by John Dos Passos, first published in 1921. The book is set during World War I and follows the experiences of three American soldiers: John Andrews, Dan Fuselli, and Chrisfield. The story begins with John Andrews, a young idealistic artist who enlists in the army to fight for his country. He quickly becomes disillusioned with the military and the war, as he witnesses the senseless violence and brutality of the battlefield.
