n a chance meeting at a local grocery store, Ella Perlman spots Albert Abraham after having not seen him in over 60 years, when they were both teenagers in love. She remembers her last day with Albert as if it happened only minutes ago, and Albert can't forget it as well. Albert never planned on seeing Ella ever again, after all, the memory he has of their last day together is strikingly different than Ella's, however, he can never tell her the truth about that day. As teenagers Albert and Ella spent countless nights of their teenage years cuddled under the stars on Ella's parents' lavish Maryland countryside estate, planning their future together. Their lives went on separately; Ella, now a multimillionaire owner of that same grocery store chain as well as a local socialite and Albert a retired architect, living a mild suburban life. Ella now views their meeting as a sign and wishes Albert - who was once the largest piece of her life - to enjoy their remaining days together, before both of their time is gone. Given a second chance, Ella is determined not to let Albert leave her sight again and rushes him, and his more than willing family, into her rather decorative lifestyle. Knowing Ella will ask why he left her, what she may have done wrong and where he has been this entire time, Albert is more than unwilling to rekindle any sort of relationship. After discovering there is more to Albert and Ella's relationship than he ever imagined, Geoffrey - who forms a bond with Ella's granddaughter Madilyn - pushes even harder for them to reunite. However, at 82 Albert does not want to dig up such intense past memories. Plus, telling Ella the truth could very well destroy her, leaving her with even more questions about their past than ever before.
