Peter Lawrence, now Minister of Agriculture in the new Independent Kenyan Government and Rafiki, Peter's wife, operating private clinics in Nairobi's shanty towns, are forced to confront rampant Government corruption as they desperately try to stay alive.
Meanwhile, their mixed-race son, Kamau, despite suffering from institutional discrimination, gains admission to Oxford University. He is chosen to play rugby for England against the South African Springboks with his 'white brother', Robert. Kamau clashes both on and off the field with Hannes Roux, a Springbok and secret member of the South African security service.

No Peace for the Wicked
Kamau, now a committed member of the anti-apartheid resistance ANC, operating as a clandestine agent in South Africa, is captured and tortured by Hannes Roux, by this time a senior member of the ruthless South African Security police.
Will Kamau escape to continue the fight or will he die in prison?
And will any of the Lawrences, survive to see Nelson Mandela finally released from prison?
