This true life, erratic and fickle, documented, personal odyssey began in the jungles of Colombia, South America in the author's first book, "Tears of the Virgin." His journey continues in "Windy Road" through the careening twists and turns of Army Basic Training and across the Pacific in 1967-1968 to the Central Highlands of the Vietnam War. This first-person account, accompanied by excerpts from personal letters, newspaper clippings, and photos taken by the author during the conflict, reveal a young man's struggle to find his place in a turbulent, confusing, and conflicted world.
