The parent-child relationship is the most important relationship we will ever have. This special bond affects thephysical, emotional, and social development of the child and thus is the foundation for possibly every otherrelationship the child will have. Often this relationship creates the basis for the child's belief system and mayaffect who and what the child becomes. Parenting today is not like it has ever been in any other generation. Some ofthe basics will always remain the same, but children today need parenting on a whole other level because the worldhas changed so greatly even in the last five years. YOUth Matters, Volume 1 was written to help bridge the gap between parents and children in this new era.Recognizing that not all traditional ways of parenting are always productive, I offer a unique perspective and tips toparents who are receptive to applying different approaches when talking to, disciplining, and understanding theirchildren on a different level.
