Aesop Variations

In nature, creatures come in all shapes and sizes. They inhabit the water, the land, and the air. The three animal pairings in Aesop Variations are inspired by the ancient fables of Aesop. Their stories highlight some of the similarities and differences to be found throughout this planet we call home. They learn from one another as we learn from them. With each story, we enter into the colorful imagination of the animal kingdom.
"Two Frogs" is a snapshot in the lives of two happy and quick-tongued amphibians. Bugs and flies of every kind feed this hungry pair. It's a life of croaking and contentment, a beautiful banquet, and an endless buffet.
Birds come in all colors, abilities, and even attitudes. In "The Peacock and the Crane," we are introduced to the bird that majestically soars overhead and the prideful earthbound bird that feels most at home when strutting his stuff.
For a couple of strong and agile crustaceans, life along the coastal shores has its challenges. Even a crab with a shell of protective armor can tire of the relentless sea. In this story, a lesson learned is revealed in the most innocent among us. Welcome to the world of "Momma Crab, Baby Crab"!
