Ben-Hur: Or The Days Of The Messiah is a historical fiction novel written by Lew Wallace and published in 1884. The story follows the life of a Jewish prince named Judah Ben-Hur, who lives in Jerusalem during the time of Jesus Christ. After being falsely accused of a crime, Ben-Hur is sent to work as a slave on a Roman ship. He eventually escapes and returns to Jerusalem, seeking revenge against his accuser. Along the way, he meets Jesus and witnesses his crucifixion, leading him to a spiritual awakening and a new understanding of forgiveness and redemption. The novel explores themes of faith, revenge, and forgiveness, and is considered a classic of American literature.
