The paintings, sculpture, and ceramics were created by artists during the 1970s and 1980s. Fully illustrated throughout in color--with catalogue plates and a checklist--each work of art features an entry with specifications, artist biographical information, stylistic influences, significance and social context, as well as notes. The photographs are by Lee Ewing, sculpture photographer at the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC.
