Emma's Soccer Adventures

At first, Emma Clarke didn't even like soccer. On game days she'd do her best to avoid the ball. But one day after getting kicked in the shins, her granddad gave her some old shin guards, and everything changed overnight! Suddenly, she felt fast and confident, and she started scoring goals for her team, the Navy Knickerbockers. But would her team be strong enough to compete at the end of season tournament? Then how would Emma cope when her shin guards go missing? And why doesn't her dad come to watch any of her games? This is the story of a young girl who comes to live for the drama and excitement of Saturday soccer games. Along the way, Emma learns what if feels like to take game-winning penalty kicks, and what it takes to fight back from being 2-0 down at half-time.
