"The only power I have over my life," thinks Claudia Stone as she puts the noose around her neck, "is the power to end it." Manipulated for years by her selfish sister and tyrannical husband, Claudia's life is not her own. Only her miniature guerilla-styled friend Shorts appears to see something of value in her.
