Claire's adventures as a child and teen intermingle with tales from the town as Lakeside deals with anti-Semitism, a kidnapping, and a then-scandalous love affair between two elderly women.
Author Beth Armstrong visited Lakeside every year as a child, and now she combines memory and imagination to create nine tales of the northern Ohio town. You may not have visited Lakeside itself, but you'll recognize the time and the town-and the growing Claire does there.
