The isolated enclave known as Nome, Alaska is once more booming. Although there may no longer be a sea of white canvas stretching mile after mile down the coastline, there remain plenty of hardy souls on hand attempting to strike it rich. Spurred on by reality television programs such as Bering Sea Gold, dredgers and beach boxers alike descend on tiny Nome each year. Armed with an invitation to stay at the camp of Bering Sea Gold cast member, Steve Riedel, world-traveling Indie author Jeff Quinn explores Nome in search of history, culture, humor, and of course, as always, colorful characters.
