Lola was never any good at math. Just thinking about it makes her head hurt: Two arms, two legs, ten fingers, ten toes. One brain, eight alter egos. Sometimes, the numbers just don't add up. Of course, it doesn't help that an unknown factor has been added to the equation - a new alter who insists he has all the answers. But maybe he does. At least he mixes the equation up... After more than thirty years in a mental hospital, dissociative identity disorder patient Lola Murray thought she'd finally silenced the voices. But after her mother's death, Lola finds herself right back where she started, plus one. As she lays dormant in a mental hospital, her eight alter egos must decide-once and for all-to merge or let Lola go forever. What does it take to get a control freak, a know-it-all, a recluse, comedian, dreamer, protector, techy, and child to agree? It's really a matter of how you, they, or "we" see the bigger equation.
