My Adventures as an Expat in Belgium

In 2008, the Fowler family embarked on an adventure that changed their lives forever when an overseas assignment took them to Belgium. What began as a blog to keep in touch with friends and family back in Minnesota, turned into much more. Learning to live in another country and adapting to another culture, opened their eyes to their own. This edited, abridged version of Natalie's blog takes readers through some of the unique challenges expats face when immersing themselves in a new culture, and celebrates the unusual victories that inevitably follow--like the pure joy of completing multiple school supply lists in a foreign language. From the birth of their third child to an alopecia diagnosis for their son, life didn't always care that they were expats. But the biggest challenge of all came when they learned they had to move and go back to a culture they'd left behind.
