Nana is one of the most representative works of writer Emile Zola, French author of the nineteenth century naturalist and father of the greatest exponent of this movement. Nana was published in 1880. The title of the work refers to the name that is given to the protagonist, Anne Copeau, descendant of the family line of Macquart, belonging to the illegitimate branch of the family, which is influenced by the defects and defects of genetic inheritance, as indicated by the deterministic thinking. The main theme of the play is the protagonist adventures in which predominates a great personality who lives in prostitution. The author tries to convey the situation of the time through the work and the importance to the protagonist of money instead of a true love through the main character.
