Resurrection is a novel by Lyof N. Tolstoi that tells the story of a young nobleman named Prince Dmitri Ivanovich Nekhlyudov. After serving on a jury that convicts a young maid named Maslova of a crime she did not commit, Nekhlyudov is overcome with guilt and embarks on a journey to right the wrong he feels he has done. Along the way, he discovers the harsh realities of life for the lower classes and becomes determined to fight for justice and equality.
