Susan, a shy young teacher, is on her way to visit her Aunt Ruby in rural Pennsylvania for the summer. Susan is escaping a bad breakup from her unfaithful fiancé, as well as the demands of her overpowering mother A new world opens up for Susan at Whitman's Nursery, a local family business that appreciates Susan's decorating skills, where she meets hunky younger son Cooper Whitman. Cooper and Susan begin a tentative romance and inexperienced Susan feels a passion for him that she has never felt before in her life.
