Sitting on Top of the World

A nun in fishnet stockings and very short skirts kidnaps a quondam cleric during an ill-timed sandwich break. So begins an improbable progress, a European road movie in which the principals invent The Self Robbing Bank, The Getaway Walk, The Instant Senility Remedy, and The Master of Piss, inadvertently becoming counter-culture heroes in the process. Wayward, whimsical and eccentric, SITTING ON TOP OF THE WORLD celebrates the marginal and the outlandish, the footloose and the foreign, the healing power of words and the quality of love, portraying through picaresque adventures and the chance encounters of the road one small corner of a cracked continent. The continent we discover is a place that doesn't quite know where it wants to go, but is obsessed by where it has been, a continent haunted by history, baffled by the future, and clinging to a fantasy of itself for fear of a less privileged world clamouring at the gates.
