Media track record: Nancy Altman and her research have been featured in The Hill, CNBC, Forbes, The Washington Post, Alternet, The Nation, and the Huffington Post, among others. Eric Kingson ran for Congress in 2016 and Bernie Sanders traveled to Syracuse to headline a campaign rally for him, although he came in second in the primary. Kingson has also been interviewed in In These Times. Their previous book, Social Security Works!, was covered in the New York Review of Books, who called it "responsibly calculated but optimistic."
Platform: Altman and Kingson founded the organization Social Security Works!, which maintains an active Twitter account with over 25,000 followers, and they will use their platform to aggressively promote the book.
Credentials: Altman and Kingson served as staff advisers to the 1982 National Commission on Social Security Reform and were founding board members of the National Academy of Social Insurance. They are widely recognized as leading experts on the topic.
