Bag om The Bad Young American
About these Stories and the Liar behind Them I decided at the age of nineteen to forgo a traditional lifestyle, and pursue my passion of becoming a Renaissance man: An adventurer, lover, soldier, scholar and poet, beholden to no-one nor thing. Although now broke and alone, I arguably succeeded. Each short-story is a novel within itself, written ostensibly for entertainment, but primarily to incite thought. Collectively, these stories chronical my journey from child to adult-wanna-be; from spoiled playboy abroad to first-tour naval officer in Special Operations, facing manhood and death. Why read these old stories? Because I was a passionate seeker of life with a peculiar imagination, who unlike most young adults, stopped in the moment to narrate his perspectives. (This collection also serves as a time capsule for the years: 1985-1993: Certainly abundant and excessive years for many of us) Back then I loved all women, trusted all men, and knew I could accomplish anything. What a wonderful thing...to be a Young American. Disclaimer: I no longer use LSD, and now sleep only with women I love.
