Luke is on top of the world-and then everything changes. One minute, the doctor is being named the dean of McMillan Medical School. The next, a stroke leaves him paralyzed and unable to communicate. Against the objections of his daughter, his bitter wife places him in Shadydale, a rural nursing home headed by the vindictive Martha Benson. Benson once lost her nursing license because of Luke.
