Bag om The Savior, the Seeker, and the Sacrifice
Working as a PA for a low-budget B movie is semi-challenging for efficient and over-achieving Annie Foray. It is wrenching when one of her few friends in the crew, a sweet (and charmingly odd) young stuntman named Galen Ashley, is killed in a fiery explosion. It is distinctly unsettling when she begins to hear his voice, calling for help and singing to her in the wee hours of the night: "Oh tell to me Tam Lin," she said. "Why came you here to dwell?" "The Queen of Fairies caught me when from my horse I fell And at the end of seven years she pays a tithe to hell. I so fair and full of flesh and fear'ed be myself But tonight is Halloween and the fairy folk ride, Those that would their true love win at mile's cross they must hide." Fearing for her sanity, Annie hires a reasonably priced Talent Sensitive and Seeker, Robinson Chee, to help her figure out if Galen is actually dead-and if he's not, where he is, and what danger he is in. Robinson Chee expected a routine missing-person Seeking, a quick case to pay the bills so he can continue investigating the reports of the shining "angels" popping up around Santa Monica. When his Talent reveals not only the afterimage glow of more angels but a portal to another world, the routine case becomes a battle for life and death-his own, Annie's, Galen's, and the fate of an alien world.
