Young and Intimate with God

Having an intimate (close) relationship with God can be challenging, especially for the youth of today. Sadly, in this generation, we are taught to believe that we have no purpose and that God does not really have a plan for our lives. For example, we are taught as early on as from Pre-school to believe in evolution, meaning that we are put here on earth for no reason, as if we simply evolved as human creatures instead of being fearfully and wonderfully made by the Lord, God our Creator, Himself. The enemy wants us to believe that we have no sense of purpose, making us likely to try to control our own lives, create our own destinies, forget our need for God, and the reward that comes from getting to know Him. But when we get to a place where we can experience intimacy with God and truly understand what it takes to be young and intimate with Him, we will understand that we are not here for ourselves. We are here to fulfill God's will. We are designed to need Him and when we try to live without Him, we will most likely find ourselves in a world of wilderness. Without knowing God for ourselves we risk discovering our full potential or reaching the place in our lives where God desires us to be. We are likely to become destructive to others, including ourselves. We are likely to become people who walk in hate instead of walking in love. But the good news is, even in our youth, we can confront the lies of the enemy and attack them with the truth and the truth is that God loves us, God has a plan for us, and God wants us to experience intimacy with Him.
