Bag om Spaceships Over Glasgow

"Stuart Braithwaite was perhaps always destined for a life of psychedelic adventuring on the furthest frontiers of noise in Mogwai, one of the best loved and most ground-breaking post-rock bands of the past three decades. This is the story of a life lived on the edge, of the high-times and hazardous pit-stops of international touring with a band of misfits and miscreants"--Publisher's description.

Brugerbedømmelser af Spaceships Over Glasgow

  • Richard 9. februar 2023

Gives an insider's view into the life of a post-punk musician in the 90s. Autobiographically it's a bit one dimensional as Mr. Braithwaite appears to single-mindedly devote every waking hour to making ground-breaking music and getting thoroughly wasted. Amazingly he seems to have kept a good diary and it's interesting to be reminded of all the gigs and artists who were on the circuit around that time - and to see who has survived. His depiction of the unique Scottish mentality is perhaps the most insightful part of the book.
