Translating the Qur¿anic Rhetoric and Culture

The book sheds light on the problems of translating the Qur¿an rhetorical and cultural connotations which constitute an integral part of the overall universal message of the Qur¿an that must be communicated and conveyed effectively to all concerned English-speaking Muslims & Non-Muslims. Yet, these two components of the Qur'an have not received sufficient and appropriate attention and in-depth research. Even though the book is mainly concerned with tackling the problem of translating the Qur¿an rhetorical and cultural content, it also addresses the English translations as a whole; It explores the type, nature, and characteristics of the most appropriate and effective English translation of the Qur¿anic meaning which serves the purpose of propagating the Islamic universal message and meets the needs and expectations of English speaking Muslims. In order to ensure an accurate, effective, informative, and faithful translation of the Qur¿anic meaning, the book concludes with proposed remedial procedures, and an action plan which can help producing a new institutionalized translation of the Qur'an that incorporates the merits of all existing translations and avoids their weaknesses.
